SHOCK  &  AWE         AND  ENVY

My  10 o’clock scratches at my eyes

and later that Summer dies   on a

helicopter    bound for Sick Kids

She was 9  and dreamed of having

a sheepskin coat  like mine   Called

me  big girl    Stole a fragile glass angel      from the shelf

And made a pearl necklace for the Panther

who terrified her     He had to be hidden

at first   gradually befriended    and bejewelled

She lay bare her envy  for my freedom   to buy pretty

coats    and  growup      Brave enough to wrestle me

to the floor  most Tuesdays       She would be         sweetsixteen

Rejoice in the blessing of not knowing

Astrological trickery ?

Do they mean:  like my little client   who

both  knew  and did  not know  about            cockroaches

..they only come out when the lights             GO ON

Can revelation be overrated ?
